Methods & Procedures
I meet my subjects, usually in the comfort of their own home or office, at
their convenience. This allows me to get a sense of their personality and
study their natural gestures and expressions.
Determine the function of the portrait, and ask if it's for a specific occasion.
Will the portrait be formal or informal? What will the size be? Should we endeavor to match the painting with the decor?
A price is agreed upon.
A sketch of the general pose and composition is executed, if it's bigger than head & shoulders, and shown to the client.
A photo session of approximately an hour and a half is scheduled.
The above steps can transpire in the course of one meeting.
The completed portrait is presented to the client for their approval. If any adjustments are required, they are done at this time.
